Is there a Connection?

I came across this website and could feel the pain in this girl as she was suffering from Fibromyalgia, being treated with Lupron and awaiting surgery. She has ovarian cysts, uterus tilted, golf ball fibroids and lots of endometriosis gluing her organs to her abdominal wall. Her left ovary is in bad shape and she has a lot of groin pain.

What a shame that they just cut out the parts because they hurt. If I only knew then what I know now I would never have let them do surgery on me but I was only 18 and didn’t know better. I certainly wouldn’t let the have let them treat me with the Lupron either. I would have saved my ovary and made the changes I had to. The Lupron didn’t even take away the cyst it only shut my body down and as far as the endometriosis it did not help either. When I got my tubes tied, I ended up having my bowels surgically “unglued” from my spine from scar tissue from the surgery of the cyst. Now I am starting to wonder if that is why I have so much pain in my spine, what did they do?

There are many, many woman on the website hystersisters with Fibromyalgia. Reading the comments, surgery shows to cause a lot of problems for women with Fibromyalgia or was it the surgery that caused the Fibromyalgia?

So what can we do? What alternative is there?

I want to share an experience I had. I went into a study for a couple of Osteopaths for old surgery. They did their thing, didn’t seem like they were doing much but I received a lot of pain relief. I also passed a pile of scar tissue and it freed up a lot of pain in my lower abdomen. I really suggest body work with someone experienced in scar tissue like an osteopath, acupuncture or therapeutic massage. It is recommended by the American College of Rheumatology. One of the girls said acupuncture worked on her surgical scar that caused nerve pain.

Here are her own words:

Questions….I have fibromyalgia, will have surgery 8 weeks away in June LAVH/BSO. Lupron shot in February ( 3 month kind) PAIN still is horrible. Ovarian cysts, uterus tilted, golfball fibroid. and lots of endometriosis that is “glueing” my organs to the abdominal wall. Left ovary is in bad shape and therefore alot of groin pain. Do I have to just tough it out until surgery or is there a pain relief medicine ar alternative you ladies have tried and is effective?
