Fibromyalgia and Calcium

In our modern world calcium from food sources seem to be mainly from dairy products. We are told we need calcium in great amounts to protect our bones. We are told to drink lots of milk to build strong bones. Milk does the body good so the commercial goes. What if this was giving the total opposite effects of what we have been lead to believe all our lives?

Jon Barron – Killer Calcium?:

In a calcium obsessed society, even when virtually every health expert in the world is telling us we need to supplement with calcium, if the truth be known, we get more than enough calcium. An abundance of research is showing that high calcium intake, dietary or supplementary leads to heart disease, arthritis, debilitating PMS and senility.

The term calcification refers to the binding of calcium with phosphate to form hard bony structures. This is what builds strong bones and teeth but when calcification occurs in soft tissue (anywhere other than the bones and teeth), it presents major health problems. It can lead to hardening of organs and tissue such as heart and arteries, kidneys, brain, skin, joints, breast, pancreas, prostrate and ovaries, etc. This calcification occurs primarily as deposits that steadily grow bigger over time.

Examples include:

– plaque build-up in the arteries (calcium is a major component of arterial plaque)

– kidney stones

– hardening of the ovaries

As calcification builds up in these areas, it can trigger inflammation, autoimmune
responses, infection and the total shut down of the affected organ.

– 50% of all deaths in North America are caused by calcification and hardening of the arteries and calcification of the heart valves.

What we do need is:

Magnesium

Vitamin D

Vitamin K

Boron

Essential Fatty Acids

Balanced PH

What can we do?

Oral Chelation with a good Proteolytic Enzyme

Chronic Pain Relief

There is so much advice out there about chronic pain but what really works?

Sufferers are so mislead by the media because there is such a big profit opportunity from people who are desperate to end their pain.

– Drug companies advertise on tv that their pill is the secret to living a great life as they list off their side effects that take up half the commercial time.

– Tylenol companies advertise that their pain pills “get you back to normal”.

Is that what the world has come to? We are normal if we are drugged up on prescription medications and pain meds?

We are so desperate to find relief we try this and that only to find that it isn’t
really working.

We have to put up with side effects such as:

– weight gain, head aches, stomach pain, swelling, constipation, diarrhea, decreased sexual desire or ability, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, increased sweating, loss of appetite, increased appetite, sore throat, tiredness, trouble sleeping, vomiting, weakness.

Then there are the more severe symptoms of:

– severe allergic reactions such as  rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing,
tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips or tongue, unusual
hoarseness, bizarre behaviour, bloody or black tarry stools, blurred vision,
confusion, dark urine, decreased concentration, decreased coordination,
fainting, fast or irregular heartbeat, fever or chills, hallucinations, memory
loss, mouth sores or ulcers, new or worsening mental or mood changes eg.
aggressiveness, agitation, anxiety, depression, hostility, impulsiveness,
irritability, panic attacks, restlessness, pale stools, red swollen, blistered
or peeling skin, ringing in the ears, seizures, severe or persistent dizziness
or headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, tiredness, weakness, trouble sleeping, sluggishness, stiff muscles, stomach pain, suicidal thoughts or attempts, tremors, trouble urinating, unusual bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness, vomitting that looks like coffee grounds, yellowing of the skin or eyes.

Then we have the unfortunate who experience

– heart attacks, strokes, kidney damage, liver damage, successful suicides, anaphylaxis shock and even death.

That is quite a list isn’t it? And all from these drugs that are going to help with your pain and change your life as you know it. Helping you with your pain. That list came mostly from the Cymbalta side effects list, one of the drugs of choice for Fibromyalgia.

I looked to the medical system for years and I experienced a long list of the above and a near death situation. If I didn’t have such a big will to live I wouldn’t be here. Well believe me, if you keep taking pills year after year you WILL develop stomach problems along with a wide array of new symptoms. It seems like you keep adding illnesses to your list of conditions and they keep adding pills for the symptoms which mostly come from the pills. It is like a domino effect that keeps you falling the wrong way, into a chronic pain syndrome instead of out of pain, you become weakened and more dependant on everyone.

There is another way and I am finding my way out of the deep dark hole of our current medical system that didn’t work for me. It was weakening my body to a point that I didn’t find much reason for living. Nothing worked, pills had me to a point that I couldn’t eat anything because it caused so much internal pain, I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t wake up, I was in a permanent brain fog and on and on. There was only one way to describe it, MISERY. I went for help and ended up getting more symptoms, more pain, more disbelief from sceptic doctors, more frustration and a lot of pills.

Now today is different. I am still in pain but I have learned how to deal with my it on such a positive level. My stomach is so much better, I have less symptoms, I can sleep better, the brain fog is gone, I know my triggers, I know how to deal with each symptom, I know when and what contributes to my pain and I feel alive instead of near death. That alone is worth it’s weight and gold. Before I dreaded living the rest of my life in the state I was in, now I feel there is a light and I am looking forward to being pain free one day. I look forward to having grandchildren one day and being able to be with them instead of them sitting in my wheelchair with me or lying in my death bed.

If you want to learn to live your life with your pain opposed to suffering your life away with pain, I invite you to sign up for my newsletter and follow my path to wellness. I want to help you help yourself out of a very hard life of the
chronic pain cycle. The answer isn’t in a pill bottle but in a wide array of
solutions. I can help!

Please read some of my articles that might help you and browse around the website. There is lots of information that will hopefully help you understand where some of your pain might be coming from.

Fibro and Muscle Health

Fibromyalgia syndrome has a lot of muscle pain. What can we do  for it?

Muscle health begins with exercise, stretching, nutrition, rest, relaxation and
detoxifying. The biggest thing is to recognize your limits and don’t overwork
them in the first place. If you lead a sedentary life and find you have pain
when you do become physical Vitamin E can apparently help with this.

Vitamin E

Can help:

  • Alzheimer’s disease

  • diabetes

  • fibrocystic breasts

  • immunity

  • Parkinson’s disease

  • asthma

  • cancer

  • cataracts

  • heart disease

  • muscle soreness

  • yeast infections

Sources:

  • asparagus

  • barley

  • cherries

  • nuts

  • wheat

  • wheat germ

  • sunflower seeds

I don’t recommend wheat as a source if you suffer from any form or irritable bowel, intestinal problems, gluten intolerance or celiac.

Interesting fact:

More than 50% of men with diabetes have difficulty achieving erections, often because of free radical damage to the arteries supplying blood to the penis. Getting enough Vitamin E in the diet can help keep blood flowing smoothly through those arteries. DV for Vitamin E is 30 international units. Dr Ordman recommends shooting for 400 IU.

For those folks who are sedentary most of the time and experience aching muscles  when they exercise, it appears Vitamin E may reduce muscle soreness.

Muscle Cramps

A matter of minerals. Cramps are a muscle’s way of telling you it’s tired, hungry or in need of rest. Magnesium such as calcium, potassium, sodium and magnesium which are known as electrolytes play a role in helping the brain send electrical messages the brain sends to the appropriate muscles. Magnesium tends to be the leader as it helps the others do their jobs. People who are depleted in magnesium tend to have greater irritability of the muscles and nerves.

Food sources of magnesium include:

  • tofu

  • spinach

  • mackerel

Your muscles also need:

  • calcium (from food, not supplements)

  • potassium

  • sodium

  • water

  • glycogen a sugar from carbohydrates

  • carbohydrates from potatoes, rice, bananas and bread

Remember these sources should not come from genetically modified foods!

Could Fibromyalgia be a disease of fluoride poisoning? I was reading this old article about Fluoride causing a serious muscle disease that causes pain and weakness as well as thyroid disorders and heart disease. A lot of medications are filled with fluoride.

Cures That Kill? August 17, 2001 By Patricia Phillips Senior US Correspondent

7amNews has learned that many medications are packing a potentially lethal hidden dose of fluoride, a chemical that some claim is slow poison. Over the past several years, numerous fluoride-containing medications have been pulled off the market for causing deaths and illness.

Fluoride is “highly toxic to the liver,” expert Andreas Schuld of Vancouver, BC Canada said.

Schuld, head of Parents of Fluoride Poisoned Children, explained that “In the liver all fluorides interfere with the metabolism of thyroid hormones, creating thyroid disorders and associated diseases, such as muscle diseases ….heart disease, etc.” Other effects can include a serious muscle disease that causes pain and weakness.

When we think of burger and fries, we think of fat, weight gain or adding to our risk for heart disease but who would think that if we add a Tim Horton’s double, double or that Dunkin’s it is putting us at risk for diabetes? A new Canadian study shows:

Our very own Ontario researcher Marie-Soleil Beaudoin discovered

– a healthy person’s blood sugar levels spike after eating a high-fat meal.

– the spike doubles after having both a fatty meal and caffeinated coffee – levels similar to those of people at risk for diabetes.

– the results tell us that saturated fat interferes with the body’s ability to clear sugars from the blood and, when combined with caffeinated coffee, the impact can be even worse

– Beaudoin said, “Having sugar remain in our blood for long periods is unhealthy because it can take a toll on our body’s organs.”

The study from the Ontario university was published Friday in the Journal of Nutrition. Read the full story at:

Blood sugar levels are not a major concern for everyone, but they should be of moderate concern to the general population considering the rising trend of diabetes.

Diabetes cases in Canada to increase by almost 2 million by 2017: study

Right now, more than two million Canadians are living with diabetes. However, the study suggests that new diabetes cases in the next 10 years will occur in younger age groups when compared to previous years. This, coupled with improved treatments for diabetes, means more Canadians will be living with diabetes than ever before.

DEATH BY ALLOPATHY

I came across this website I wanted to include, there is a pleathora of information.

http://www.whale.to/a/dean.html

DEATH BY ALLOPATHY

[Allopathy is the leading cause of death, 783,936 1 every year in the USA alone.  Then add on the millions killed or lives shortened by chemotherapy & radiation, while Allopathy Inc has suppressed dozens of cancer cures for over 100 years (see: The Cancer Conspiracy).  Most Alzheimer victims can be laid at the doors of Allopathy Inc, also Heart disease, Cot death, AIDSSmallpox vaccination killed millions over the centuries. Allopathy Inc also covertly condones Junk Food, and poisons such as Aspartame & Fluoridation. ]

I got digging into Harvard University website and dug into some statistics on the United States Department of Agriculture

USDA Dairy Products 2009 Summary April 2010. I was in awe how many billions of pounds of dairy is consumed!! The keyword here is “billions” of pounds. Wow! Is anyone’s colon moving in America? Oh right, there is an obesity issue isn’t there? No wonder there is so much chronic illness and disease with the hormone and antibiotics that most of this dairy is loaded with.

I am lactose intolerant so I don’t consume dairy because when I do I suffer a lot. I think there are a lot of people are the same but instead of avoiding dairy they resort to medications for diarrhea, stomach problems or over the counter stomach remedies instead of addressing diet and avoiding the causing factor.

I think the saying, “you are what you eat” is as true as “you are what you breathe, wear, absorb and what you think.” If you plug your colon with cheese and other foods like white flour products and fast foods like McDonald’s, it is going to quit functioning properly.

Here is some statistics from Harvard:

Summary

Total cheese production, excluding cottage cheeses, was 10.1 billion pounds, 2.0 percent above 2008 production. Wisconsin was the leading State with 26.0 percent of the production.

Italian varieties, with 4.18 billion pounds were 1.4 percent above 2008 production and accounted for 41.4 percent of total cheese in 2009. Mozzarella accounted for 78.2 percent of the Italian production followed by Provolone with 8.3 percent and Ricotta with 5.9 percent. Wisconsin was the leading State in Italian cheese production with 29.5 percent of the production.

American type cheese production was 4.20 billion pounds, 2.3 percent above 2008 and accounted for 41.6 percent of total cheese in 2009. Wisconsin was the leading State in American type cheese production with 20.2 percent of the production.

Butter production in the United States during 2009 totaled 1.57 billion pounds, 4.3 percent below 2008. California was the leading State in butter production and accounted for 33.1 percent of the production.

Dry milk powders: (2009 U.S. production, comparisons with 2008)

Nonfat dry milk, human — 1.51 billion pounds, down 0.7 percent.

Skim milk powders — 222 million pounds, down 40.6 percent.

Whey products: (2009 U.S. production, comparisons with 2008)

Dry whey, total — 1.00 billion pounds, down 7.5 percent.

Lactose, human and animal — 723 million pounds, down 3.1 percent.

Whey protein concentrate, total — 415 million pounds, down 6.3 percent.

Frozen products: (2009 U.S. production, comparisons with 2008)

Ice cream, Regular (total) — 920 million gallons, down 1.1 percent.

Ice cream, Lowfat (total) — 381 million gallons, down 0.6 percent.

Sherbet (total) — 53.1 million gallons, down 8.0 percent.

Frozen Yogurt (total) — 74.4 million gallons, down 5.3 percent.

That’s a lot of dairy! With most of it being dessert or treats, it is also high in sugar as well aspartame, food coloring, chemicals, preservatives, msg and additives. There is also antibiotics and steroids that the cattle are getting and the pesticides they are and they could be eating genetically modified food. It contributes to heart disease, obesity and diabetes as well. It is a chaotic chain of harmful chemicals in our food chain. We need pure, natural, organic food!
